Pendle Connects provides a platform for networking, sharing of information and business generation. Events are free to attend and open to all Pendle based businesses as well as those doing business in Pendle. All sectors, private, public and voluntary are welcomed.

We are delighted to announce that live Pendle Connects events are returning this Autumn. We will be networking at The Garage, Brierfield, home of Arts Collective In-Situ. Following a networking session with complementary refreshments, we will have a borough update from Pendle Borough Council. Our speakers will then share their journeys to success with the audience and take questions as a panel at the end. Speakers are being confirmed but will include Paul Hartley of In-Situ and Penny Heys of Inspira.

NB! Limited places are available, please only book if you know you will be able to attend. We allow one ticket per booking. To keep everyone safe, all attendees will be asked to take a Covid test the evening before.

Education & Employer Engagement

Pendle Connects was proud to run the first Pendle Education Summit in July 2021. Guest speakers from government, local authority, schools, colleges and employers shared the need for greater employer engagement with education and the vast benefits to businesses, students and schools.

Businesses are encouraged to visit the following links for more information. Joining the Skills Pledge allows any business to pledge their time to support a local school, commitment starts at just one hour. Start Lancashire is a great place for employers to advertise opportunities, apprenticeships and for students to find them. Guest speakers were Andrew Stephenson – MP for Pendle and Minister of State for Transport; Dr Michele Lawty-Jones – Director of Lancashire Skills Hub and Board Member of the LEP; Dean Langton – Chief Executive, of Pendle Borough Council; Morag Davis – Assistant Principal for Technical Curriculum at Nelson & Colne College; Stefni Oliver – Chief Executive Officer of Daisy Corporate Services; Ben Rhodes – Managing Director of Tailor Made Sourcing Ltd; Philip Heyworth – Managing Director of JD Engineering; Rachel Tomlinson – Headteacher at Barrowford Primary School; Rachel Green – Education Engagement and Development Manager at The Careers & Enterprise Company and Lisa Scargill – Deputy Careers Lead, Inspira. 

The event was made possible by the Lancashire Careers Hub which is managed by Inspira, Lancashire LEP and the Careers and Enterprise Company.

Quarterly breakfast events combine business networking with panel interviews. Expert speakers will focus on themes key to success within the Pendle economy. As well as the chance to learn from and network with these speakers and other local businesses, a business update for the borough will be given by Dean Langton, the Chief Executive of Pendle Borough Council.
